Our Story
Building a custom home is likely the biggest investment you’ll ever make. You deserve a builder who doesn’t just show up, but one who understands the "why" behind every nail. I started my journey in the shop, running a woodworking business while at Texas A&M, and I’ve never lost that respect for hands-on craftsmanship.
My approach is defined by a single standard: Demanding Excellence.
This isn't just a motto; it’s a discipline I’ve honed at every level of the industry. My background is a rare blend of field experience and high-stakes expertise. After building multi-million dollar custom homes in Boerne, I spent years managing complex schedules for Clark Construction—including the historic restoration of The Alamo Plaza—and overseeing large-scale K-12 projects for Satterfield & Pontikes.
With a Master’s in Construction Law and a Master’s in Construction Management, I don't just build houses; I protect my clients from the technical and legal headaches that often derail custom builds.
The Labus Advantage
I bring big-city precision to our local community because I believe a handshake still means something—and a job done right means everything.
-
I apply TREC-level inspection standards to every phase of your build, catching "hidden" mistakes before the drywall ever goes up.
-
With my legal background, I ensure your investment is shielded, your contracts are fair, and your liability is low.
-
I’ve managed schedules for projects across the United States. From the most iconic landmarks in Texas to museums and high-rises. I bring commercial practices to residential building.
The Process
Discovery & Site Vision
Before we move a single shovel of dirt, we solve the project on paper. We combine Architectural Design with a Site Analysis to ensure your home is perfectly positioned for the South Texas landscape. By identifying soil conditions and lifestyle flow early, we eliminate the "surprises" that derail standard builds.
Managed Excellence & Legal Protection
We believe transparency is the foundation of trust. Leveraging a Master’s in Construction Law, we provide clear, fixed-scope contracts and rigorous project management. You receive weekly updates and direct access to your project’s documentation, ensuring your investment is shielded and your timeline is respected.
The Master Craftsman's Handover
A Labus Custom Home isn't finished until it passes a 300-point inspection. We don't just hand over the keys; we provide a Legacy Homeowner’s Manual containing every warranty, paint code, and maintenance schedule for your home. We build for the next fifty years, ensuring your family’s legacy is as solid as our foundations.
